Trans fat to be ban in NYC

Come across this morning news in yahoo about the ban of Trans fat in NYC,what is trans fat?"Trans fats occur naturally in small quantities in meat and dairy products from ruminants. Most trans fats consumed today, however, are industrially created through partial hydrogenation of plant oils and animal fats — a chemical process developed in the early 1900s.
Unlike other fats, trans fats are neither required nor beneficial for health.
Eating trans fat increases the risk of coronary heart disease. For these reasons, health authorities worldwide recommend that consumption of trans fat be reduced to trace amounts. Trans fats from partially hydrogenated oils are generally considered to be worse than those occurring naturally."a brief description of Trans fat(Thanks WIKIPEDIA).So what can we do about this TRANS FAT?for once try other alternative cooking oil, good example will be corn oil(MAZOLA).I should check up with the MRS what cooking oil is used at home.I do hope MOH or whoever is responsible in monitoring our nation eating habit(again its an individual decision,i am what i eat, hehehe) to do spot checks on eatary outlets in our country,to ensure that they are using healthy cooking oil, especially the fast food outlets.Btw the hydrogenated oil is as the same price as the vegetable oils in our market.

Hazy Brunei

When was the last time haze blanketed brunei where we have to wear mask to go outside the house, i think it was in the late 90's or early 2000, i cant remember.Well the haze is back, and i do hope we dont have to wear any mask to go through this haze again. It's becoming kinda of a yearly event now, what is the neighbouring country going to do about this deforestation in kalimantan.I do hope some kind of solution will be achieved with all those farmers.Pics left taken yesterday, i was on my way to a relative sungkai ceremony with the mrs.
