Towards achieving the self sufficient Rice supply, the GOvt of Brunei have launched the Padi plantation scheme early this year. Yesterday saw HM the Sultan of Brunei officiating the Local Rice of Brunei Plantation called Beras Laila. Its been a while, been bz lately and to start off my latest post, i was invited by DST today to attend a cooking show by Bobby Chinn the award winning chef from the program World Cafe Asi, half egyptian and half vietnam, a very funny and charismatic person who really knows how to entertain people. Another 2 weeks

Today i have the privilege of taking pictures of the Brunei Flag raising ceremonies in conjunction with the upcoming Brunei 25th Independence day celebration. It was attended by Ministers and Government officials and were held at the Yayasan Hassanal Bolkiah Square,right infront of Masjid SOAS. Here are some of the pictures taken by me this morning. Masjid Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin

Today is the Golden celebration for the Masjid Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin, this is one of the well known land mark of Negara Brunei Darussalam, constructed by the late Almarhum Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin in the 1958. This Masjid plays a major role in the development of Islamic education in Brunei.Now today it is 50 years old, and thank you to ALLAH the almighty, it will stand another 50 years. Pic taken by me last night.

Ramadhan in Singapore

I was in singapore for the weekend to spend ramadhan with my other half. The best part was of course meeting her, and breaking our fast at Geylang serai, we wondered around the market place before settling down to get something to eat, unfortunately the food stalls were all fully seated. We had to break our fast by just having cendol, which tasted durian, a first for me and the mrs, and it tasted good. The atmosphere were electric, and so were the people.More pics here
