Brunei very own Rice

Towards achieving the self sufficient Rice supply, the GOvt of Brunei have launched the Padi plantation scheme early this year. Yesterday saw HM the Sultan of Brunei officiating the Local Rice of Brunei Plantation called Beras Laila. HM the Sultan also consented to plant the rice himself bare footed on the padi field(*respect*) photo courtesy of INFOFOTO

Alhamdulillah, its about time. I remembered HM repeatedly in His Titah about the so-called "sumber alam" in many occasion. After so many months and almost a year or so, its get started. And yet we have witnessed, HM himself get off His boots and bare footed and bare handedly plant the paddy. Its a rare occassion and Alhamdulillah, I have seen his HM is a down-to-earth kind of Sultan. I am yet want to see the Minister do the same - not just delegate but be a worker for a change.

Good project really. As asian countries like brunei have their own resources to self-suffice the need of rice supply, it's time to carry out such a program.
