The Original Nasi Katok

Origin of Nasi katok (door have to be knocked to get the rice)
Now business is through the window

The Original Nasi katok packaging
The inside of Nasi Katok

Last Weekend, i was feeling hungry after my round of Driving at RBA driving range,so i decided to get something to eat,and what popped upin my mind was Nasi Katok,no,no,not your ordinary nasi katok at the roadside,or at your local gerai malam, this is the real stuff, the original nasi Katok, hehehe.Ever wondered why it's called Nasi katok?the reason why it's called nasi katok was that during the older days, the door that i photographed above is where customers have to knock in order to buy the nasi lemak, and initially it was sold at 50 cents per packet and its price increased to 70 cents after business was booming,or was it 70 cents all the time?anyway, till today, the Nasi lemak tasted, packed and priced the same, yes 70 cents, and it's so finger licking yummy.

Honestly this isn't the original Nasi Katok. The original one is at the Gadong power station cross junction traffic light there last time there is a goverment house.. A Malay family selling Nasi lemak there. Every night we went there and buy but must knock on his door... That's is why the Nasi Katok name come from....
